Description

Pork soft bones are cut from the lower part of the rib cage where you can find more cartilage. Meat is tender, with slight fat marbling, and intense flavor. Many people have a misconception that it requires a substantial amount of time to tender the meat and cartilage but actually cooking them with a rice cooker is good enough.

Suggested Recipe :

Thaw the Austrian Pork Soft Bones and pat them dry with kitchen paper
Rub the soft bones with salt, sauté with minced garlic, ginger slices, and Chinese rice wine / sake, marinate for 6~8 seconds
Stir-fry until the surface turns golden, add more Chinese white wine/ sake and cover it up for 5 seconds
Add your preferred seasoning sauce such as soy sauce until it boils
Transfer everything into a rice cooker, add scallion chunks and braise for 1 hour, flip the bones during the process
Take out the large pork soft bones and cut them into smaller pieces, filter out any excess meat and keep the sauce
Put the meat and sauce back into the rice cooker and braise for another 15~20 minutes until the sauce thickens
